Gabriel Hase studied design in Zurich and IT at Harvard in the US. He gathered his startup experience leading politnetz.ch, a Swiss platform for citizen politics. Under Gabriel, Politnetz won the first ever GEN data journalism award handed over by Wolfgang Blau, then editor-in-chief at Zeit Online and praised by Aron Pilhofer, then associate managing editor for digital strategy at the New York Times. Together with his co-founder Lukas, Gabriel went on to found the media agency upfront in 2012 and finally Livingdocs in 2015. In the last 3 years Livingdocs went on to unite the print and online newsrooms at NZZ, help Swisscom to run their portal bluewin.ch and publish to their TV set-top boxes and SZ Magazin to produce great content for their weekly. Gabriel believes that publishing is one of the cornerstones of our society and we live in a crucial time to define what publishing means for the 21st century.
